Adult leopard with half tail eaten by crickets. Suggestions ?

Ok, I was at my local store today which is local. Not +++++ or any chain. They got in an adult Snow that was shipped with crickets. It looks like a gecko mill. They are not buying from them anymore. They know I read forums and research so he may give it to me to take care of. You can tell a good store when they would rather give away a gecko then let it die!

Does any have suggestions on helping it, other then keeping it by hisself and feeding non crickets for a while ?

Personally I would get it to the vet and see if the vet can amputate the tail above the part that is damaged or if the damage is high, clean it super well. If it is a clean break it may grow back better than if it is mangled by crickets.

how bad is the damage? can you get a picture. if its just superfishal it will slowly heal by its self. one of my geckos had half if the flesh ripped off her tail by a male, poor thing looked like she'd been filleted . It did heal really well.
every time the gecko sheds the scabs will come off too, re-opening the wound but each time this happens it gets smaller and smaller.
amputation is a last resort , anestesia and the operation the self can be quite stressful and hazardous.
