Advice needed for homemade incubator

I plan on making my own incubator using a polybox, heatmat and thermostat. I was wondering if I need to add ventilation holes and if so where would be the best place to put them? Or will it be fine without any holes at all? All help is welcome as I should have some eggs from my female very soon.

When I built mine I ventilated the box on the sides near the bottom of the box. It worked out really well, I was only getting a 0.5 degree fluctuation with my Zoo Med 500R thermostat, the smallest Zoo Med heat cable and a 4x5 exo-terra heat mat mounted on the top of the box. I am sure that if I have used a longer heat cable or a bigger heat mat on the bottom of the box I would not have required the heat mat on the top of the box.

it might be overkill, and I'm not certain it's been mentioned in here/on the site, but...

Since I didn't get any chondro eggs this season (again) I'll be tweaking the incubator settings to try leo gecko and colubrid eggs. I powered my setup with the herpstat ND with the blue illumination. It seems a little easier to read from a distance for me.
