I am about to turn the 30g Geek is in to a better footprint for him

I have done some searches and research and cannot find an answer.

Geeks tank is 30" long, 12" deep and 18" high. I am planning to turn it on its side to give him a 30" long, 18" deep and 12" high home.

My question here is....do I need to drill the tank top after turning it on its side for his heat bulb or can it sit directly on the glass with no issues?

Thanks in advance all

Heat bulbs WILL shatter glass. I've seen it happen at least twice (both times my idiot brother sat a heat lamp ontop a glass hood to rest while he cleaned another terrarium, and POP!!! Glass everywhere. I would suggest not using a heat lamp at all - use a 25w bulb for illuminating the enclosure and flexwatt or a heat mat with a rheostat for UTH to maintain a hot spot at around 90 degrees f. :main_robin:
