Advice please

My leopard gecko, Sampson, is approximately a year old now. He has always been a bit skittish and doesn't really seem to like being held. He is MUCH different from my old leo who I had for 10 years (he was so nice and tame and would just sit in my hand). Now every time I try to hold Sampson he bites me. How can I get him more used to being handled?

when my cousin got his leo, he was about a year old and he was really shy and he would bite my cousin, it took him 2 weeks to get his leo to the point where he can take him out of the tank and have his leo sit on his shoulder for like 40 minutes while he did homework. All he did was he would take him out and give him some mealworms, some times he would take them sometimes he wont, he would only have him out for like 5 minutes at a time for about 3 times a day and he eventually tamed down.

I think you'll just need to be more patience; do everything in slow motion and try talk to it with the softest voice.
