Hey guys,
We've got a 8 month old mack snow blizzard (72 grams) we tried breeding to our super mack snow male (50 grams) two days ago. Within seconds after we put him in with her she went for his neck and bit him... I never saw a female who did this of crouse they let the male know when they're not in the mood but I haven't seen then act this way (the male was only in several seconds and they didnt even licked at each other yet he didnt wave his tail yet etc.)
I seperated them since it looked like she would just do it again if he came close. At first I was afraid it might not work because he's a bit smaller than her.
Today I put in a female, which is the same size as her, with her just let them meet and smell each other and kept my hands close. My mack blizzard immediately came out of her humid hide when she was in and started smelling my mack snow female I put in with her at first it looked like she wasn't going to do anything but all of a sudden she grabbed her tail :S seperated those again, but now I don't know what to do.
She is definetely female and she isn't a 'hot female' since she came out of an egg temp sexed for female. She does this to both the male and female and small and large leos. I didn't pick her up or anything prior to the introductions to make sure she would be relaxed and not defending. She's always been the niciest leo we own and never showed any sign of aggression, she always sleeps in my neck while Im at my pc.
Has anyone seen this before and what causes this :S we really looked forward to breeding her and had to wait what looked like ages until we finally could and now she doesn't want to:p
Thank you for your reply!

Well, some females are more aggressive towards males than others. She may just be territorial. Try putting her in with the male instead. I was thinking she was a hot female but you said she isn't.

Many females will bully smaller males, so you may want to wait until the male catches up with her.

As her biting the female's tail, I'm guessing it's just territorial.

Yeah just after I posted I thought it might be that and I put her in the females tub, first she looked like she was going to go for her tail again but eventually she didn't she was a lot more cautious because it wasnt her territory.
Our first thought was her being a hot female as well also considered she's pretty big but we know the breeder pretty well and ask just to make sure and she only has one incubator which is set to female temps it just fluctuates a bit sometimes but I dont believe it could ever have fluctuated enough to have temps of 26 - 34 degrees celcius. We're gonna let the male grow for another month or so and then try again while putting her in the male's tub. Thank you for your reply! We hope this will work :)
