Aggressive Male

Hey there, I about three years ago I purchased a male patternless (Romeo) from a petshop. I don't usually pick up animals there but he was an adult and they told me he was discounted because of his size (which is odd and not usually the case) they also told me he was being kept with two females one of which was now laying eggs. I asked to buy him and the gravid female but they wouldn't let me buy her because they wanted the eggs so I just got him.

Three years later he has always lived alone and is ridiculously laid back and friendly, he loves coming out of his tank and sitting on my shoulder or crawling around on the table or couch, he has never bitten anyone or pooped on them - a spokes gecko among geckos. However I recently was given a breeding pair of geckos as well as a second female who has never been around geckos.

My problem is this I tried to introduce Romeo to my breeding pair female in a large neutral tank a while back and he was acting normal, not terribly interested - then he started waving his tail around and chasing her, I believe she was ready to breed but she didn't want anything to do with him, but then he bit her tail and she started screeching and then they began to do this death roll thing, it was awful. I squirted them with water and separated them, they were both ok just a few minor scratches.

On another occasion a few months later when I got my lone female I introduced them in a neutral tank as well, this time he ran up and grabbed her back and tore a piece of skin off of her back. She is fine now after some neosporin and is living in my harem with my breeding pair, they all get along great and both females are producing fertile eggs which have just begun to hatch.

So whats up with him??? They said he used to live with two females, my females are obviously receptive to a male, and Clyde has never attacked either of them but Romeo goes psychotic. I don't need to breed him but I would like to have some more patternless.

When I checked both of them they were gravid, and as soon as my second female healed up from Romeos attack I placed her with my breeding pair and she mated with Clyde almost immediately and is now laying eggs.

So since he acts so insanely aggressive should I not try breeding him in the future? I mean this isn't gecko "foreplay" he trys to kill any girls he is introduced to :/
