hi. i haven't gotten up to speed on all of the morphs and combinations to make the certain morphs, but i have my albino male (i believe tremper, but not sure) and i've love the coloration of the aptor and raptor. i want to have a couple of baby leos, but i really don't think i'll procede to becoming a breeder, at least its not in my plans. i'm wanting to know, which female would be the best to buy, and what would i come up with from either an aptor or raptor? i apologize in advance if this has been brought up in the past. thanks.

If your male was in fact......

a Tremper and crossed it with an aptor or raptor you would come out with all normal albinos that were het for either aptor or raptor, which ever you bred it to. Unless of course the albino you have is het for either of them without you knowing it!!!!

i have no way of knowing, he came from petsmart-i tried to get the name of the place they got him from, but they didnt remember. so the only way to get a aptor or raptor is to have a raptor or aptor and another leo besides albino, or am i way off? the genetics side of the leos always gets me confused, sorry

Well if you had a Raptor and breed into to a Tremper you would get a bunch of Tremper Albinos. 100% het for eclipse eyes. The thing is about RAPTOR/ APTORs is there full of genetic stuff. Some line bred and some true recessive traits so its hard to tell with the srtripes and all.

with a normal you would get a bunch of hets. Not necessarily het APTOR RAPTOR though. So in a gentic term a RAPTOR would look like tt ee where t is for the Tremper albino trait and the e is for the eclipse (Ruby in albios) eyes. A normal would be AA AA. So all the kids would be At Ae het for tremper and het for eclipse eyes. Now the problem lies with the linebreed patternless part.

oh ok. what i think i would want is to have some aptor or raptor or possibly both babies. it appears to me from what has been said that the best way to have that is to have both aptor/raptor parents, am i right in that assumption? sorry for the all questions, and i appreciate the help.

yup thats the safest bet. Make sure the APTORS are het for RAPTOR though if you want to keep you breeding low key at first.
