I am totally allergic to mealworm casings, not the worms themselves.

I'm allergic to superworms. They just touch me and I break out with a red rash. I still use them, you just have to be very careful.

Val and I both have a pretty crap time with mealworms as well. We both sneeze and blow our noses off. I think it has more to do with the dust thats created as they break the food down along with their poop.

I find that the mealworms only bother me toward the end of a shipment - when the gutload is mostly replaced with frass and I have to spend more time with them. It hasn't been so bad lately as I've been going through them much faster feeding all these babies....

I'm allergic to eather the mealies or the mealies bedding pre shipped, big time.
When I first unpackage them I sneeze my head off then the eyes start itching and watering. I'm also very allergic to mice and suffer from the red rashy hives as you described. It sucks!! & I feel your pain.:main_thumbsdown: I'm also allergic to rats, rabbits, guinie pigs, hampsters, gerbils and anything else that has fur under the sun. LOL and I worked at a pet store for five years miserably.

Same thing here.

As for the rash, try using thin latex gloves (surgical or hair dye type). They are thin enough so that you don't man handle the mealies and they are disposable.
