Here's some gecko stats..
Sex: F
Age: 4 or 5.. I honestly can't remember..I'm a bad gecko mom, but she's not old, or young, and this isn't her first year breeding, she's never had any trouble before.
Weight: 72G
Short version;
Gecko is definitely breeding weight. Lives with her mate but he doesn't stress her out in the least, has always stayed with him year round. She seems to be the more dominant of the 2. Definitely gravid, has not lost weight, not lethargic, clear, bright eyes. Her appetite always slows down when she's heavily gravid but I'm fairly sure she ate last night. She appears to have an extra egg developing. 2 eggs are clearly visible, a little more than 1/2 developed...what LOOKS to be a third egg, is about 3/4 the size of a penny.. very small. Should I be worried yet? What should I watch for?
Longer version;
She's a chunky girl, lengthwise, she isn't a big gecko, but she's heavier set. She's in her best weight ever coming into this season. Anyway.. On Sunday, I realized she had some very small eggs starting, and she and her boyfriend have been cuddling for weeks now so I know they've been active. She lives with her mate all year, always has, for the past 3 years she's been bred. Anytime he has seemed to bother her (once, her first breeding year.) he has been removed, so I don't have a problem doing so, but she seems totally fine with him and has laid no problems previous seasons.
Last night I saw her tummy really sagging, so I took a closer look, and sure enough, big eggs! But wow, they grew fast! But it almost looks as though there are 3 eggs.. I tried to get a picture tonight and almost got bit. I don't want to stress her a lot but I'll try again.
She has a suitable place to lay.. she has never been a big eater when she's been heavily gravid and usually resumes the day she lays, and stops about 5-7 days before.
I'm just worried because of the extra egg. It's about half the size as the other two. Smaller than my thumb nail, where as the others I'd say are a bit over 1/2 developed.
What should I be looking for? So far no weight has been lost, she's active, still walking around, bright eyes, no funny behaviour, doesn't appear to be in pain.
Sorry that this was so long and jumbled.
