Hi,

I have two very sweet, curious leos that are healthy and active. The cage set up has three hides. There is a water dish and a mealworm dish. The source of heat for my geckos is a lamp. The flooring is reptile carpet. The temps have a way of varying on me, but are within the recommended range. The hot side is between 92 and 96 and the cold side is between 83 and 88. I know from reading the forums that I have done several things wrong. I'm fixing them. (Switching to UTH/ Humid hide/ Ceramic flooring/ More room to climb) They eat crickets and mealworms. The vet says that they are healthy. Their weight is 43gs and 46gs.

My question is about the color of their skin. All the pictures I have seen have yellows, oranges, whites, etc. My leos have a brown/caramel/burnt orange type of color. Is this something that can be controled or changed? I just want to know that they are as healthy as they can be. Thanks!

Pics are working. Cold leopard geckos don't display bright colors. One you install their UTH, you will see the difference. Temps need to be measured on the warm side at the floor surface over the UTH with a digital probe thermometer or temp gun. The other types won't give the correct reading.

THANK YOU! I have been worrying about this for a while. I am so glad I stumbled upon this forum. All this information and opinions have really helped me figure out how to take care of my geckos better. They deserve the best.
