Am I understanding this correctly?

I have read several guides, but I am still a bit confused. Everything else with leopard geckos makes perfect sense to me. Feeding? It seems complicated.

Gutloading:
Do I purchase a special powder to dump in with the mealworms/crickets prior to feeding to the geckos? OR
Do I take potatoes/oatmeal/carrots/exct and feed them to the meal worms/crickets? OR
Do I purchase the special power and dump it onto the potatoes and then feed it to the mealies/crickets?

:c I feel like a 'tard asking this, but I want to understand it before I get my animal(s).

(I realize there is a subforum for supplement, but I wanted to keep it to one thread)

Calcium Powder:
I want the kind without D3. I leave it in a small container in the tank near the food/water dish. Am I understanding this correctly?
I purchase D3 separately and put it on the food every second feeding....?

People do things differently. This is what I do:

I throw some fruits and veggies into my colony to let them eat that, and I have them on an edible substrate as well, a mixture of oat, bran, and fluckers cricket food. Then, when I feed the leos, I put a few in a dish and sprinkle Repashy's Calcium Plus on top and shake it up to coat them. Same works for crickets. I highly recommend the Rephasy's product. I really has everything your leo needs.

I've also been throwing mine in vionate (a vitamin mixture) an hour or so before i feed them. It doesn't seem to coat them well like Repashy does but I'm pretty sure they're eating it. For my roaches I mix the violnate in baby food and they devour it. I also feed them a nice variety of fruits and veggies. They really seem to like oranges, kale and carrots.
