Thanks! And, yes! A friend and I plan to breed koi in the spring. So far it seems much easier than reptile breeding, because the eggs will hatch 4 days after the are laid, no incubation or bringing them inside since it's very warm where I live! But they lay thousands and thousands of eggs, still planning what the heck i'm going to do with all those fish :)!

Haha, there may be thousands but they are like .5 inch and under, and they will all live in two baby ponds. If there's a really bad storm, there have been several, I just leave them in the pond. They just wait it out at the bottom. So far they've survived two tropical storms. I've only ever lost one of mine to a sneaky raccoon, grrr.

Hahahaha. Have you ever had them lay thousends? And do they use Koi eggs as like those eggs that you eat like those High priced fish eggs? If I ever get Koi Im going to make a BUNKER. Racoon + Storm Proof. But Like My only suggestion would be to create a Umbrella or some thing above the fish so they dont get shocked in a storm, Or are they shock resistant * That would be amazing *. It would be really devestating to lose all your Koi :(

A koi bunker. I just might do that, LOL. Yeah they don't really have a umbrella like structure, but they do have a net over them, so far the raccoons can't get in (I bought the net because of the raccoon incident), and leaves and branches won't pollute the water. That sounds like a good idea though, i'll look into it! Never bred them before, as the females can only breed successfully at 3 years (they live anywhere from 25-35 years, in some VERY RARE cases, they have been reported to live to 200 years :O) and up, which is a lot compared to most reptiles and a century compared to most fish. This is their third year, so it'll be my first attempt to breed any kind of fish actually. I don't really know if they are shock resistant, but like i said before they've survived some pretty bad weather! And yes it would be horrible to lose the koi!

Good god. That is ALOT! Hahaha yeah the net sounds like a good improvement. That should help with less lightning and off course less racoon raids. Agh I need to get some Koi. Are their morphs? Im suddenly beyond interested because of the eggs. GONNA GET ME SOME KAVIAR. Lololololol Jk but yeah I got to try to get some Koi on my hands, They seem like some cool looking fish.

Are there morphs!?!? There is A TON! There are actual colors, then their are scale types. They are really fun to keep, they do need a pretty big pond but you can fit a lot in there! Heres some websites you can look at most of the colors (By the way, I have a doitsu sanke and a showa if your wondering!):

And this picture doesn't show the all variants, just a basic chart of basic colors.

Yeah, they're pretty cool. And thanks Jenna, the female tangerine enigma is about 7" long, she's always been naturally small. And the male SHTCTB is a giant, so he looks massive next to her, he must be 9 1/2 inches at least! He is huge!

Ya he does look massive. So leos dont get that big then? Unless they are some kind of giant.

They are generally pretty hardy, but they can catch finrot, hookworms etc.. But if they do you generally don't need to go to a vet, I don't think there are fish vets lol, you would just look up the symptoms online and buy some medication online or in a tropical fish store and isolate the sick fish, and add medication to the water. I'll get some photos tomorrow, but this winter and summer me and a couple of freinds are planning to expand it to almost 3x what it is right now.

Yeah, they usually are withing the 7 1/2 - 9 inch range, but giants\super giants tend to get around 9 1/2 - 10 1/2 inches, but the biggest on ever recorded was a tremper albino named Godzilla, he was\is 11 inches! I think he was owned by Geckos, Etc.
