If you have a gecko with poor vision..do not hand feed, because he/she will miss the worm and latch onto your thumb.
Fun fact: geckos have teeth.

Ouch... I use small tweezers to pinch the cricket, Nefarious actually let me hand feed him today. Hope your hand gets better :)

Ya, I didn't really suspect them to have teeth to be honest. Wow, that's surprising, they must be tiny.

Been there - done that

Didnt want to purchase a set of feeding tongs that could possibly injure Geek - so I picked up these:
http://toronto.flyerland.ca/product...-5925215/big-als-aquarium-services-store-1483

He has no problem with them even though he was used to me feeding him by hand for a couple months.

May want to leave the tongs in there for a few days so your Leo's get used to them but - again - works great on this end!

Ill deffinately consider something like that. He likes to be fed by hand, but Id rather not have any more wounds.

why not let him do what he naturally does and that is hunt ??
because was already stated that he has poor vision so to hunt naturally would probably mean starvation for the poor little guy. i have a male whos very lazy and only will eat adult locusts so just grab hold of its wings and feed it to him that way :p fingers well out the way

Leila is a brat and will only eat if I hand feed her. :p (I've tried crickets and unless they're RIGHT IN FRONT OF HER NOSE, she won't even look at them). She's bitten me by accident a few times by accident because of it, but WOW, I can't imagine how that felt! I'm used to Leila's weak little pinches ahaha.

He does hunt when he can, and I put worms in a dish for him, but the bigger worms escape and he cant get them, so for stuff like waxworms and large meal worms I try to give them to him by hand.

Haha, welcome to the club! I use an 8" rubber tip tweezer to feed my geckos. Maybe I should take pictures of how that rubber tip looks now, could've save some innocent fingers, lol.
