Animal Plant has a new series called Lost Tapes. Its about raw footage of hidden creatures said to not exist. What do you think real or fake? I am not convinced, most of the footage is a little fake and not much cursing! If I was being stocked by a Megalania, said to be very similar to the Komodo dragon but much much larger I would pull out the book on curse words! Also in another story there is this women, a very attractive Forest Ranger in 2005 was sent out by herself to protect the black bear population from poachers. What strikes me funny is this sounds like a really bad situation waiting to happen without the Big foot. Horny, women deprived poachers killing Black bears and stocking her and she is all alone, no help until Big foot kills the stalker. Kind of sounds like a late Nite with Elvira type movie! If this is a desperate attempt to better there falling rates, shame on Animal Planet. Steve Irwin would be very upset!:main_no:

Well, obviously the show is based on cryptozoology. Which means, frankly, we don't know if it's real or not.

So basically, quote wikipedia, the show will be about..
A. The search for living examples of animals taxonomically identified through fossil records which are considered to be extinct.
B. The search for animals that fall outside of taxonomic records due to a lack of empirical evidence, but for which anecdotal evidence exists in the form of myths, legends, or undocumented sightings.

It's all very fascinating, but it really frustrates me not knowing! It's like an episode of Unsolved Mysteries in which the crime has yet to be solved!

I heard about this series and want to see them so bad! After reading your report Eric, I'm not sure I will lol. If it's corny, it will only irritate me...

Ya Heather, a big can of corny!

They lead you to believe the footage is real, its not! At least "Unsolved Mysteries" tells you upfront they are reenacting certain scenes. It could have been a very interesting series but its only insulting. Very disappointed!

All of the Discovery networks have sold out... Well maybe Travel channel is still good... I remember when TLC really was The LEARNING Channel... Don't get me wrong, there are still good programs on, but they're few and far between...

Michael your exactly right! I was looking forward to this as I am a documentary freak! LOL! I love true documentaries about whatever! So, stupid me, having high hopes for this show and how they advertised it was live footage not fake footage with horrible actors. And the make-up artist was awful it looked like a Michael Jackson thriller video job!

Don't they show the recreated vids and at some point show the actual footage it was created from. Not all the time but when there actually was footage. And like the plesiosaur thing of the coast of California eating people off of boat decks, they based the stories of the carcass found off the coast of Japan that looked like a plesiosaur.

Either way, you kind of have to take all of this with a pinch of salt. It is cryptozoology after all. I love this stuff, its really enjoyable to watch, most of its probably fake but some of it I kind of believe haha. Some are more believable than others like Bigfoot... but that alligator man thing ahaha. No...

Oh and another show thats bad on Animal Planet is that wierd true and freaky... I point out all the false truths on that show every time I watch it. Like the one with the ball python found in a college dorm toilet.... I qoute "sinister serpents" "pythons can grow to be over twenty feet long and can be very dangerous..." Meanwhile they make no effort to say this is a harmless ball python.... and make comments about how dangerous it is..... FAIL!
