Animal Plastics heat cable suffice?

Just wondering what were the thoughts on the heat cable, I already have one. Just wondering about others opinions ?

I use A/P racks with heat cable, and although it took me a little while to get used to it, I really like them! I feel heat cable is is a safer alternative for me since I have had two heat tape meltdowns which almost caused as fire. The A/P racks are designed with the cable in a routered grove in the bottom of the shelves, and nothing sites directly on top of them. You have to be very careful, though... if you let the excess cable underneath the rack touch itself, it will burn out.

I use heat cables only and I love them. In my opinion they are safer than tape.

I really don't know... it just over heated in the center and began to melt. I smelled burning plastic and hot wood, and the shelf was beginning to smolder. Thank God I was home and the geckos were not injured or killed!

I really like the AP racks too. Although, I think the heat rope is harder to get a consistent temp.

I have mine on controllers and they stay very consistent.
