hi i was wondering if you guys have head of reptiles being used in animal testing i know of a lot of different animal being used but reptiles i haven't heard of.

Due to the fact reptiles are "cold blooded" the testing of them would not give the correct reactions to rule out side affects on humens so they use mammels which are closer to us genetically.

i know they aren't reptiles, but frogs (not positive to which ones) were actually the first human pregnancy tests. scientists found that if a pregnant womans urine was injected into a (female) frog, it would ovulate. African Clawed Frogs and Leopard Frogs are actually frequently used in research (i dont know exactly what for and i dont feel like looking:p)

i agree with that people could at lest get fake fur and skins a lot of companies do that now.

Reptiles are/can be used for research. There have been studies done on calcium intake in turtles and using fatty acid profiles to determine the nutritional status of squamates (I had to do a presentation for my nutrition class). Not sure if this is the testing you were looking for, but reptiles are used in research.
