Another Bad Store

I took my kids to a local pet store here in town and it was terrible to say the least. The owner of the store is a joke and should not have live animals there. Looking at the reptiles there every cages was a mess it was worse than any chain store. First they had a large snake atleast 8 ft in a wire mesh cage with a small heat lamp. All they had was 10 gallon tanks for everything no matter what. I counted 8 adult sick Leos in one cage no heat and only one hide with about 2 inches of sand. You had to look hard to see the sand because it was covered in feces and the leos had to just lay in it. Most of the snakes are in little critter keepers stacked on eachother. And this guy say on his website that animal care is at the top of the list in his store. When people go in there to buy a reptile they listen to his line of bull**** and believe it. There has got to be something to stop freaks like this. This is why alot of people think reptiles are throwaway pets. Sorry had to get this off my chest. Is there anything that can be done? Is there a way to make people see the bigger picture of these animals? Thanks for reading.

I would check with your local public health office to see if they have any information on that vendor. I know people who have done that in regards to both dogs and cats. They have been able to pop the people for causing a public health hazard due to the unclean conditions of the facility even if they can't get them on any animal charges. I feel for you. I hate seeing that kind of thing. Just the other day I was at a show, and there was a table with sad looking animals. I wanted to shake the person behind the table into having some sense. You can also report them to your local humane society. At the very least their names would be put on file. They might even get investigated if there are enough complaints.

I dont know if it would be a good idea or not but I have a friend that works at a tv news station and im thinking about calling and seeing if they would be a story about this. What do you guys think about doing something like that?
