I'm trying to get the Jungle trait straight in my head. I have read that it's a polygenic and recessive trait. I'm starting to think it's a recessive trait and here's why.

I have bred a male Jungle Mack Snow het tremp to 4 different females and only one female has produced the jungle pattern. Out of the 4 eggs that hatched (from original 6) 3 were jungle. (2 dried/molded)

Dad MSJ het Tremp:

Mom Tremp Alb (breeder said poss Het RAPTOR maybe):

He has sired at least 15 other babies this year and only this female produced jungles.

Would you consider this female "Het Jungle"?
Would all his offspring be considered "het jungle"?

I certainly haven't listed any of the offspring as "het jungle" but now I'm starting to wonder.

Anyone have a similar experience?

I think you could say het Jungle- I've heard it before. But I've also heard of supposed het Jungles not even having any Jungle babies. Soo...hmmm. Maybe you could say "possibly het Jungle." Idk...

i think its incomplete recessive. it works kinda like the stripe patterns; you dont always know what you are going to get but if you cross a jungle and a jungle you will get jungles that are variances of the parents...

genetics are exciting...
