another leo hating his vitamins

so I just got a 4 year old leo. I have been told that he ate his mealies just fine. I have introduced crickets as well now. He loves them even more. the problem I have is, since I've brought him home, I dusted the mealies with T-Rex Calcium plus and he has not touched a single one. I tried dusting the crickets today, and he won't eat the crickets now. I have a jar of Flukers calcium fortified cricket quencher. would it be fine to just let the crickets load up on that and then feed them to him? or should I find some other way to supplement his diet? I just think it's odd that he was eating mealies and crickets fine, but when dusting is introduced, he won't.

Have you tried really lightly dusting them and then working up the amount a little more?

My baby Tiger salamander was this way and still wont eat meal worms with a nice dusting, but he doesn't mind the crickets with calcium dust on them anymore.

haven't tried that. I'll give it a shot. I might also try that liquid supplement that you put in their water. a local reptile store owner told me to try that. he doesn't sell that so I know he wasn't just trying to make a buck off of me.

Feeding Schedule

Make sure that you are feeding him/her two or three times a week.

5 or so crickets at mealtime with a dish of mealworms.

Use the shake and bake method of dusting the crickets.

Mealworms can be dusted but, usually the calcium is put in the dish with them.

Wait a few days before feeding so that your Leo is HUNGRY.

Then see what happens.:D

Well, I am a fussy eater too. Kiya generally eats anything with calcium on it. I generally put the calcium on the crickets only. I find it holds to them better than it does mealies. I leave a bowl of calcium in her enclosure just in case. I saw her licking from it yesterday. Start in small dosages and work your way up. That might be the best bet.
