froto's eating and activity has declined, he eats a little but not near what he used to his tail is getting skinny, and i cant figure out whats wrong. i have the ground temps regulated at 91-92* with a thermostat and the air temps stay about 80-85* his cool side is 75-77. humidity is 65-80% (80% only when i just get done spraying the enclosre) i thought he has been stressed due to my job schedule change, however its been about two and a half-three weeks since that and he still hasnt been eating normally, i havent bothered/held him other than general cleaning and maintenence of his enclosure (twice a month, daily poo cleaning if he poos)

suppliment schedule is: pure calcium-every other day (dish in his enclosure at all times), calcium w/d3 in between. vite suppliments twice a week.

i know it would be best to take him to the vet now, however i have to wait till my next check till i have the $ to take him (car insurance is killing me:main_angry: ) is there anything i can try that may help until i get the cash together to get him to the vet and get him a checkup/fecal?

I'm sorry to hear your little guy is not doing well. Can you ask anyone to lend you the money . . . or what about a credit card? He may be impacted or he may have parasites, it is really tough to say.
In the meantime, I would offer him some vanilla-flavored Ensure.
Good Luck!

really? i'll give it a shot. my check comes friday, so i can get him in then. i just hope he will be alright till then. for now i been ripping the heads off waxworms, mealies and crix and pushing the guts out, and letting him lick at it for a while, every now and then he takes one, but not like he normally does. i figured it cant be impaction b/c he is on paper towels. so im really clueless to what it is, the vet is the only way to be sure.

Geckos do normally slow down on eating this time of the year, but they shouldn't lose much or any weight do to it. Only a vet can tell you why he isn't eating and losing weight for sure. Let us know what happens when you bring him. I hope he is ok.

I'm glad he is doing well. update us on the visit. I tend to have alot of feeding problems with my Fat Tails too. They seem to be very picky. Mine will only eat crickets and nothing else. Not even wax worms!
