Does anyone know of any leopard gecko rescues in the northeast? I've had to rehome my animals for an upcoming cross-country move, and one of my geckos has a few special needs. She's 6 years old, healthy and beautiful, but she doesn't see terribly well (if at all) out of one eye. As a result, she's a poor hunter. She needs to live alone, since she doesn't compete well for food. Her eating needs to be monitored, she does best with a feeding bin and sparsely decorated enclosure (so food is easier to locate), and I hand-feed her from time to time if I'm worried she's not catching enough food on her own.
I'd rather not put her through the stress of shipping her, and I'm worried about putting an ad on CraigsList, since I can't be certain that prospective owners would really be willing and able to give her the little bit of extra time and attention that she needs. If anyone knows of a rescue in New England that could be attentive to her, or even help find a responsible owner, please pass the info along to me. Alternatively, if anyone on this forum has experience with leopard geckos (probably a given, since it's a leopard gecko forum) and is interested in taking her in, feel free to PM me.
