I use this for my males warm hide, I rinsed it with hot water and vinegar, but this coat smell still lingers. Anyone know if this is a permanent smell had it for about a month now...or any tips advice if I can wash it out...if that makes any sense lol...

what material is it made out of? look it up on a website that sells it.

Some materials are not made to be under heat or with heat beaming on it if that is how you use it.

Well its a basking cave mainly for bearded dragons, so its meant to have heat emitting on it...I bought it because its big enough to cover my whole UTH, my male is picky so I let him chose.

Are you sure it says it's for basking? look it up and double check.

Always read carefully, they can trick you, lol says for uvb lighting.

basking in healthful UV light or burrowing in the cool darkness of a Basking Platform,

The heat may be making it smell.

I strongly doubt its because of the heat, I have a 50w blue bulb only...and it smelt before I put it under any heat anyways even after I washed it well. Plus, people reviewing say it retains heat well.

Thats what I am wondering, but rzilla is a reputable seller am I not mistaken?, wouldnt make sense if it was any way shape or form toxic.

They can cover their behind easily by saying they did not state it was resistant to certain temps.

That would be ridiculous if thats the case since it states its a basking cave....if its made for bearded dragons then for sure its going to be exposed to heat.

Make sure this is not what is sealed with and not what you are smelling.
