Okay so i happened to find a episode of NOVA on PBS (channael surfing) last night. and it was on Cuttlefish.. OMG. I love them.. and i did a lot of google searching today. and think Octapuses, and Cuttlefish are just simply amazing intellagent creatures :)

I figured it was a longshot. but i was wondering if anyone had any that they would like to share pictures and/or stories of.

They are tough to keep if you are not an advanced aquarist. They need a nice tank with lots of rock and a tight fitting cover. They like moray eels are escape artists and often end up carpet surfing :(

aNOTHER THING ABOUT CUTTLEFISH IS MANY ADVANCED HOBBYIST BUY THEM SOMEWHAT LARGE AND A MONTH LATER THEY DIE EVEN THOUGH THEY WERE EATING FINE(Sorry just realized it was on caps lock

My point is sometimes even with the best care cuttlfish die because there life expectancy is extremely short less than a year I think.

any way there are also different species of cuttlefish out there some temperate while some are tropical species. Some stat small while others need a huge tank. So before you buy one do a fir amount of reasearch on the species you are obtaining.

That being said thaey are not impossible to keep but unless you are a somewhat familar marine aquarist I cant reccomend them.

Good warm up to cuttle fish is to setup a FOWLR tank with temperate species and get used to taking care of them.

I myself have a 125 gallon reef tank that is my baby lol.

One more thing that is just a small correction the term cephlapods covers a large category of animals such as nautilus, octopuses, squids, ect. Just a heads up

Hope I helped
