Anyone know where to get a Rheostat?

I am concerned that my little ladies temp isn't right. I am wondering if anyone know where I can get a Rheostat or some other device to control temperature, and possibly the prices.

The city I live in only has one pet store, and sadly they do not do enough research about geckos to know how to take care of them properly. They gave her to me with sand in her terranium! :main_no:

If anyone know where I can get something to help adjust the heat it would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you!:main_yes:

If you have a hardware store in your town you can see if they have a light dimmer because they work the same if not try Reptilesupply.com that's where i got my ZooMed Rheostat.

I must admit that Rheostats aren't the best temps jump around but if it's all you can afford for now it's better than nothing. You MUST have a digital thermometer with those things and should check the temps are few times a day.

Is it too hot? The best is to buy one online, but if you need something right away, you can go to a hardware store, in the electrical dept and ask for a "lamp dimmer" that you can plug a lamp into. Just plug your UTH in and this will allow you to adjust the heat heat lower. I got one at Home Depot, do you have them in Canada where you are?

Oh, and as Liz Marie said -- definately need a digital thermometer on the floor of your tank on the hot side for accurate temps.

We do have a home depot, I should give them a call and see if they have any. I want to get one right away, even if I buy something better later. Digital thermometer... Wonder if they sell those at Walmart. I don't know if it's too high or too low. Here our weather can get to -30 degrees below, and my room is in the basement, so it tends to get really cold. I have an UTH and a light right now in an attempt to get her more heat.
