The freaking spam around a lot of forums lately?? Geez wth is up with that? Almost every single forum I visit is being taken over by spam? There hasn't been that much here but another forum I post like every other post was spam.

I think that I see much more spam in forums/groups that aren't very busy and have instant registrations (no approval of new members) and Yahoo groups seem to the most affected by it

It's a REAL problem. Spam is one thing, but a large majority of it is pornographic and that's just plain wrong to have those links where kids can have inadvertent access to it. Sick.

Having a challenge to registration (like type the numbers you see) helps.

I've seen the same occourrence on some other forums.

Our volume of Email SPAM has tripled over the past two months.

I agree Marcia - we recently had an issue with some pop-up sites that we had to block. The pictures were absolutely disgusting.

Oh, there has been--we've just been deleting it asap. Earlier today some spammer made 3 posts within just a few minutes and was in the middle of his 4th when I banned his silly existence. lol
