Anyone own a Ghost Ball Python? Pics Please

Hello, I was told when I got my male that he is a Ghost. Where most Balls are black he is brown color and his tan is more creamy tan. I haven't got a picture yet but if any of you have a ghost, can you post pictures please? I also have a Het one and if I breed them together what would the precentage be of getting another or should I breed him to something else? I am new to this morph. I have raised Balls for about 6 years but this would be my first year with hets like Pied, albino, and I have golden stripes male and female that look exactly the same. Plus normals and I want a Pastel, spider and a real Piedball. Any thoughts are welcome.Thank you! Deb

Did you pay about a $1000 for it? Does it shed clear?
If not, you don't have a ghost.

There is an ad right now on fauna where someone is trying to sell a nice looking import baby as a ghost. It's not and they are trying to get someone who doesn't know any better to pay extra for a normal snake.

Look at some of the breeders sites. Ghosts are easy to spot form a normal. Based on your description, I would say you don't have one.

Post a pic and I'll be able to tell you for sure.

He sheds clear and has a clean belly, no markings. Its hard to describe him so as soon as I can I will post a picture but I am vending at Havre de Grace tomorrow so it will be a few days. TX Deb

This one shed clear and looked hypo but never proved out.
Some can appear to be a ghost and then never reproduce the trait.

Hi Here is a couple pics of the male in question although he is more brown than black which is strange the pics are darker there. It wasn't in true outside light so I may need to take one outside. The first three pics are of him and the last two are of the het ghost female. He does shed clear but he hasn't been bred yet. I will try this season. Deb

I would say not a ghost. He probably sheds with a pattern but it is so light, it is hard to see.
Nice snake but I don't think he is anything more than a pretty normal.

I kept his shed and there is No pattern but I can't seem to photograph it to show you so I will take it to the next show and ask a expert there. Its no biggy but I will try to prove him out. I got him from a fairly close friend so I really don't think he would lie. But time will tell, Thanks for your input SPJ, Deb
