I am ordering some pretty young tremper's, which I will eventually be breeding. I know females need to be a year and over 50(55?)g. How old can a male be before he can breed? I would think a lot younger since they only need to supply the sperm. Google doesn't show any real results, so I figure I would ask here.

I wouldnt breed a male that was any younger than 9 months old and atleast 50g. Yes they just supply the sperm but younger males can be more agressive and it does take a lot out of the males too. Also I have heard that younger males can end up causing eggs to be infertile. HTH

I notice you have a lot of questions, and google probably won't help. But the search function on this forum will get you answer quickly.

I tried the search on here for this one, didn't show up with much. Maybe my terms were off.

I have bred males at right over 40 grams with no lll effects. Make sure female doesnt rough him up though if she is a big gal.

I agree, if you have a female that's much larger than the male, it may be difficult for the male to show he's the man ;)

Males usually reach sexual maturity 6-9 months old. Whether they are ready usually depends on their weight & health. Normally people recommend 45-50g+ as healthy weight for normal geckos (different for giants).

So I don't want to offend you, but how long have you been keeping Leo's?

7 Months. I won't be breeding until August/September next year...Hence why I am asking these things.
This info isn't common knowledge for someone who hasn't started breeding and it's not as easy to find as the females.
Granted after retrying my search terms I found a post with the information.
