AUGH!! :main_angry: this is so stupid! after watching the two dragon/ violet gobies spaz out with some unknown ailment i did some research on them. it turns out EVERY SINGLE THING about their habitat is wrong. corporate dictates how we are supposed to care for out pets, usually they have done their homework and everything is pretty good.

but we're killing these fish! they always end up dying with in their first week. why???? well they're not freshwater fish! [insert string of expletives here] they need salt, they're brackish! they also need sand, gravel is bad because they filter feed! this is why the never eat! they're not able to get the food!!! they also need algae, their teeth are not for eating the stupid minnows we're supposed to feed them, it's for scraping algae.

i'm going to talk to a manager about this first thing tomorrow. this is pathetic! the new DM will be in this week, i hope i get to talk to her about this. this whole company is needlessly killing fish for no reason. not only that, but we're misinforming "pet parents" about the needs of their new pets.

i want to put my head through a wall, i can't understand why corporate has us care for these animals in a way that ensures they have a painful death.

I’d hope something like this would get changed, I cannot see how it couldn’t.

And thank you for doing the research, and trying to change things.

I am sorry that you are having to go through this. It is nice to see that their are still people out there that care as much as you do about the animals that you work with. It gives us a little hope that there has to be one or two people in coorporate that also care. Good luck and hang in there.

I'm right there with you. I totally know what you're going through.

Just keep up the good fight and talk with your manager(s). With enough prodding, and hopefully if they care, you can get something done!
