I accidentally bred one of my girls right after she matured sexually because I was promised that they were both female when I got them. This was long before I know what I do now though and she ended up having a single clutch of 12 eggs that year and 10 were good but I wouldn't recommend breeding a female until she's 2 years old.

Clutches can range from 30 something to 10 or 12 eggs in size

First clutches of the season are usually the largest and often the most colorful
Usually the following clutches are smaller by a few eggs per clutch and the last clutch may have eggs that aren't fertile and that don't hatch

This also depends upon the females age and health

Depending upon the females size/weight-I go with 1 1/2 to 2 yrs for first breeding

It is very important to pamper your females with lots of good food when they are gravid or you will end up with a female that looks like a pancake after she lays

just my 2 cents

you should not breed your female until she is 1.5 years old at youngest and at least 18 inches long. while she is gravid you need to elevate her calcium/protein intake. while they are gravid you can give them a pinky mouse once a month because the elevate fat/calcium/protien in a pinky mouse is very good for the development of her eggs.

just note if you breed one too young or too small you chance killing her through her body not being able to keep up with the nutritional needs of her clutch or through binding because her body is not prepared to lay eggs.
