Awkward Male

Hello,

I have a 1 year old male that I try to reproduce with a 3 years old female. The female seems ready and is offered to the male but this last seems to not know how to do it well.
He's nervous. He bites the female on the tail, starts has to go up on the body, then releases and goes away while crawling.
I've seen him licking and washing his hemipenis but i'm not sure that's the sign of his success because i've seen him hemipenis out trying to do and at least give up ...
It is his first time : how can I help it ( well i think you'll make joke with that but my english is not good enough to say it in another way )... Perhaps is he too young ?? ( i don't think )
Shouldn't that be an instinctive behaviour ???

Thanks

First time males can seem unsure of themselves when approaching a female. I'd just leave him with her if she's receptive. The crawling you see, is that low to the ground and rubbing? If so he's just marking his territory with the wax from the preanal pores.

Yep, I agree with Mandi and Felicia. Just leave them alone and when they are ready and he figures everything out, breeding will take place.
