I have 2.1 Bombina orientalis, but before I set them up to breed, I have a question for any Bombina authorities out there.
I see, somewhat frequently, mention made of two different "forms:" Not the brown vs. green, but a larger form with longer legs, and a smaller, stocky form. Multiple keepers report that these forms have refused to interbreed (leading to speculation of two cryptic species within B. orientalis). My female MAY be the more stocky variety, but I am unable to find images that compare the two. Comments, anyone?
