Well we had a lot of babies hatchling out. Almost one per day! I did some group shots. Please excuse the prices, some guy was asking about them. We also have 3 unpictured, as they hatched in the last 24 hours. The last 3 was 2 SHTCT and a Red Stripe.

This first picture is of some HTs and a Rainwater het PA

Second is of Tang Trempers, Red stripe and Rainwater het PA

Here are some pictures of Sushi, my Crested. Anyone have idea what morph he/she is?

And here is my other crested, Wasabi. Once again, ideas on morph would be awesome!

And last, I rescued this little guy from where I work. Some girl told he his arm got bit off! She ran him over to me and his arm was hanging severed, and bloody and coated in sand. So i washed it well, had to take off the dead arm (yuck!) and wrapped him in a cute bandage to help keep debris out of there. They all voted that I would probably be the best to care for him, so I took him home. He has since eaten 3 mealies from my fingertips and is very active and alert. I think he will make a good recovery...

Awesome! You should name your next crestie Sashimi... That's too bad about the bearded losing his arm. Best of luck with him!

Congrats on all the babies:balloon2:  :party2: :drummer: :balloon2: :balloon: How I miss having little leos hatching :( .(till next season) Poor little beardie:sad2: , but at least it was lucky enough to be helped by someone like you:smug: I wish it the best on its recovery. I love your cresties also, the more I see them the more I want to get one.

You little beardie is adorable. Good for you for bring him/her home. Just a little advice on the Beardie though... Mealies are not good for them. They tend to cause impaction, especially in young BD's. I feed only crix or silkies to my juvie BD. There is a really good forum with lots of BD breeders that I belong to. If you would like the address, PM me. It like the beardie equivalent to this forum. Awesome resource.

Kristi) Well, I had about 30 baby beardeds in my care as of late, and I am out of anything BUT mealies. These are all very very young mealies as well, as I don't even have any adult mealies :(

Anything is better than nothing at this point :)

Chicken or Veal baby food with vitamins/calcium mixed in works really well too with sick babies. You can also give them unflavored pedialyte.

I really wouldn't recommend even newly molted young mealies. They have a hard Chitin shell which is very hard to digest, especially with a sick animal who's system is under a lot of stress.

If the mealies are all you have, I would suggest getting the baby food until you can get some crickets.

Just trying to give some friendly BD advice.

Very Nice animals you have! I'm glad the beardie is in good hands now.
Kristi, I would be very interested in this forum you speak of. Could you Message me the link? Thanks!

I beg to differ on the subject of feeding mealies to bearded dragons
i have done so with my hatchlings in the past and I have a close friend that breeds hers and she has fed mealies exclusively to some of her hatchlings with no problems what so ever and going by the pictures and the demand for her babies-which are normals-btw-I can say that they are some of the healthiest dragon babies that I have ever seen
they are nice and fat-alert and very active
I have never heard of mealies causing any problems either in Beardies or Leos

I was going to go on with the mealies, but I decided not to. However I will mention that altho mealies do have a chitin layer, so does crickets. I wouldn't quite understand how mealies could hurt a bearded, and not a leopard gecko, as seeing the Leo has a shorter GI tract. I feel, IMO, feeding crickets that may have harbored pin worms to a sick and immune system depleted animal would be more harmful than feeding clean mealworms I have bred myself. But, I always appriciate words of advice, don't get me wrong!

Annnnnyways....

Update on the little guy:

He had his wound cleaned out last night, and wrapped up for the night. This morning he is sitting under the light, basking quite well. His bandage will come off for the period i'm at work, so the wound could breathe. It currently shows no deteriating flesh, which is always a good sign. In fact it looks very positive to me :)

Great looking youngsters you've got there, Desire'!

BD's choke more easily on prey items, especially juvies and if the food item is too big or difficult to swallow. I don't believe the chitin in the exoskeleton is the issue.

I would say that they are Flames! I love the color o the first one especially :main_thumbsup: n

Congrats on the babies! My season is slowing down right now with the leopards, but, I don't think it will ever stop, I have a few Females that just started breeding and a few that will be breeding size soon, so I think I will have babies year round, which is cool.

And, my Gargoyles just started breeding, should have my first 2 babies in about 5 weeks, I can't wait to see them. And, I have Cresteds that just started breeding and a few that will be ready soon.
