Typically the more they get used to you, the less leos squeak, click, grunt etc...but even our adults will let us know when they don't like what we are doing.

Mine each make a different noise. One clicks, one chirps, and another makes a gurgling noise like the suction thing at the dentist's office. The one that clicks seems to just be "chatty" and doesn't need to be upset to make noise, the one that chirps only does it if I haven't held him in a long time, and the gurgling one does it to just about everything for little reason (he's also a blizzard). If I make my blizzard really mad, like when I'm getting skin off his toes, he'll hiss at me. None of mine have screamed at me since they were babies. The chirping one may squeak at me if he gets bit scared but nothing loud.

We brought a baby home a little while ago and when we went to take him out of the deli cup you would have sworn someone was trying to murder the poor thing! I have never heard a gecko screech so loud ever! There were three of us in the room and everyone stopped talking and looked at this little gecko because something so small was making such a big noise! Now a few months later he is still a little skittish but does not scream at us any more. But I do have some adults that squeak a little when I pick them up, usually you can tell that they are not really in the mood to be picked up.

The first time I ever heard this I was surprised. I had never been yelled at by a reptile before. They will most likely stop this as they get used to you. My adult Tang. Tornado can't stand to be handled. She grunts whenever I handle her. Thank goodness it's not high pitched.

We have one that came out of the egg screaming and he hasn't stopped yet ( he will be a year old 7/29). Most of them out grow it..thank goodness.

I have one that makes these gruntie noises when I pick her up but she doesn`t try to get away or moving anyway she just sits there. But all geckos can make vocal noises as that is what classifies them as geckos:main_rolleyes:

My wife loves it when they do there little grunts when there older. It sounds like a big ole toad when you pick them up. As for the little babies it can be quite comical at times. We sometimes will slide open a hatchling cage and be greeted with one of those high pitched screams. Some of those babies will have quite an attitude an scream alot and others will just never let out a peep.
