Has anyone else seen this http://market.kingsnake.com/detail.php?cat=10&de=543418
I know I haven't been around for some time but I was checking out Kingsnake classifieds and saw this add for Baby Apricot Leopard Geckos. They look to me as normal leos, their is no mention of its genetics or if its a new morph. Have I missed something new on leo geckos...is this just another marketing name or is it just something I haven't heard of before? If someone can shed some light or educate me on this would be great.

I've never heard about apricot before. I think this once can turn out tangerine. maybe Hypo or super hypo. But I don't think it's a new morph, if that's you're question.

The New England Show in NH last weekend had 2 tables selling "apricots". I'm certainly no expert, but they didn't stand out as special, cute sure, but not "Wow!" They weren't asking for extra money for them either though.

If they are claiming it as a new morph (like the emerine) We along with i am sure almost every breeder on this site have hatched out similar geckos.

Kinda like the "Banana" blizzards I will be producing soon. They are a real morph though. Definitely a marketing scam (best word I can think of).

I just feel bad for those people that aren't informed and get taken advantage of. I just hate the thought of someone marketing something just for the money and have no morals for what they are doing. I know the world if filled with all kinds of people, but I hate when the nice ones are the ones that get taken advantaged off....sorry had to get that of my chest...I hope this isn't what this person is doing. I'm going to email them about it and also inform them of this post. It would be nice if some light could be shed and also be fair to get there insite into the Apricot leopard geckos.

The person who is selling those probable got them whole sale and breeds snakes, like an apricote pueblen snake, so they figure thats how they name the leopard gecko, by its color! which makes Apricot Leopard geckos LOL.
It aint nothin new!

I email them and got a response. This are a copy of the e-mail.
This is from me to them yesterday
Hi,
I'm writting to you about the genetics of your apricot leopard geckos. They look to me as some regular nice yellow leopard geckos. Do they change as they get older? Is the apricto genetics
Recessive, Genetics Co-dominant or are they line breed. I've posted a thread on the gecko forums (http://www.geckoforums.net/showthread.php?t=12802)to see if anyone else knows anything about the Apricot leopard Geckos. Thank you for your time and hope you can shed some light into this for me.
and this is the reply
I am not sure. We normally do not deal with lizards. I bought them from big easy reptiles as apricot's fresh out of the egg. They are now 2-3 weeks old. Thanks.
From the email it seems that Baysidegeckos had it on the mark. I just would think that with all the web access and information out there about leopard geckos you would check up on it or read up on them. That way you know as a seller a little at least about them if a buyer wants to know about there basic care or general information and also how to correctly market them with the right name.

^^Same here. I have had them, and they aren't always ripe. Dont you hate it when they are hard? Its like biting a flavored rock.
