Baby Beardie Doesn't Wanna Go o.O

My brand new baby beardie doesn't want to go back into the cage. I tried putting him in there but he just crawled up my arm. Is it okay to hold them on the first day? o.o I heard not but he's so persistent on staying on my hand. xD

I know this is a bad idea but I bought him from ++++++++. I saw him in the window and he immediately was clawing at the glass...it was adorable. He was begging to be taken home.

Well, I took him home and now he wants to hang out. xD


I guess I did buy him because of his personality. He's sleepin atm.

Check setup and make sure all husbandry needs are met. There are some on hear that have some good bearded dragon forums they are on. There may be a reason why he doesn't want to go in. I don't think it will be bad to hold him a little, but you should put the bearded in its new enclosure so he can become accustomed to his new surroundings. The thing probably never wanted to go back in because he's only used to undersized tanks and improper husbandry. Most those large chains don't have proper housing/husbandry for there reptiles. I would need you to fill out the health questionnaire to even start at a guess of what it could be.

Heating lamp, paper towel bedding, hide, and food/water dish is all i have in there for now. he likes to sleep in his food dish lol.

He officially handfed today. He's really quick to pick up things.
