Baby Crested Gecko Issues

I recently purchased a baby crested gecko, and although he/she appeared to be active and healthy at the store enclosure, since I got him I have been noticing some problems.

Enclosure information:

Tank: 5 gallon
Substrate: Paper Towel
Plants/Hides: Fake plants, enough to reach the top of the tank, and some on the bottom to provide hiding places.
Food: Repashy CGD (although I don't think he has eaten anything yet).
Temps: Low to mid 70's.
Humidity: I spray the tank 2x a day, enough for there to be water droplets on the sides, dry out and repeat.

Here are the problems:

1. I noticed some stuck shed on one of his crests, I bathed him and removed it with a Qtip.

2. He is not sticking to the tank. Although he can stick to rougher surfaces, he's really not good with the smooth ones.

3. He has spent most of his time at the bottom of the tank hiding under a leaf.

I am most concerned about the lack of sticky feet. Can anyone offer me any advice. I'm fairly certain it is not stuck shed, as stated before I bathed him and I tried to gently clean his feet with a Q-tip, nothing came off.

Sometimes they have trouble shedding a couple days before they shed. He/she probably just needs to settle in a little more before venturing around. Depending on how little it is, some of my new hatchlings like to hide or stay in a certain area for up to a month before they really like to adventure out-n-about. When they are really small it is harder to tell when they eat, just have to monitor for really tiny poop.

I did find some poop in his tank today, I also managed to spoon feed him a bit. I stuck a long spoon with some CGD in the tank in front of him and he nomed a bit. The fact that he could be pre-shed relieves me a bit, he still has a couple flakes of old shed on one of his crests (q-tip took care of most of it, but not all, and I didn't want to over-stress him), so maybe that will take care of that too. Also that would mean that he will become even more brightly colored (he's a cute little orangish flamer/maybe harlequin)

I just want to make sure that I am doing everything I can in his best interest. I stalked a lot of forums/websites before I bought him, I've had luck raising baby leo's to adult age and I am hoping I can do the same with this guy.

dried CGD on the feet often give cause to not being able to stick to surfaces also.

Well, I did bathe him, and although his feet got stickier, they still weren't sticky enough to climb with. There also doesn't appear to be anything really stuck to them (at least nothing that can be easily removed with a q-tip), so I doubt it's the gecko diet.
