Well, I was finally able to snap a photo of Baby Leo B. It's not the best photo and I apologize for that, but this little one is quite nervous yet and I did not want to cause undue stress.

Baby Leo B, as it will be known as for now, was purchased from the same pet store as the other leo and I'm suspecting that it is about 3-4 weeks old just as it's cage-mate is. This baby also weighs in at 5g. I feel bad that they're so tiny, but I hope they will grow and flourish under my care. I'm new to leopard geckos, but I am dedicated to doing all that I can for my new babies.

As I wrote in my other post, the babies have access to water 24/7. And, I did give a brief soak to this little one. They have a humid hide as well and I'll give another soak in a couple of the days. I am also working on getting some weight on the little guys. They're being given crickets, but is there something else I can be giving them as well? And, again, I want to note that they were given water that was not treated by their previous owner (and they did not have free access to water). I've, obviously, fixed that problem. But, is there something I need to be worried about since they did have water that was not treated before?

Okay, enough questions for now. Here is Baby Leo B's first photo:

I'm assuming it's the same age as its cage-mate. And, I know it needs to put on some weight and also likely needs to be hydrated (I gave a brief soak just prior to taking the photo). But, all that aside, do you have any idea on what morph it is? I'm just curious.

I'm so nervous that I am not doing all I can for these little ones. And, since they're small and had a rough beginning, I am so scared I'll lose them. Please, any words of wisdom or just friendly support? I really do love these little guys and want what is best for them. Thank you all for your help as I learn and my geckos grow...

Aberrant Stripe, a neat funky looking gecko as well! I think this one will turn out really neat looking.
This one looks to be in better shape. Doesnt look dehydrated. Looks bigger/older (5-6 weeks old?) to me but it could be camera angle...

Are you dusting the crickets with calcium/vitamin powder?

You can also offer your leos mealworms in a dish in addition to crickets. The mealworms should be live, well gutloaded and hydrated. Gutloaded basically means that they have eaten and are full of food. I mention these two things since a lot of people think keeping mealworms in the fridge at all times and tossing a few in the dish when needed is good food for reptiles... not true. The mealworms should be taken out 24hrs in advance to being fed and allowed to eat at room temp as well as get moisture from something like a carrot or potato. This is also true for crickets, crickets should be gutloaded for 24hrs before being fed to a reptile (crickets dont go in the fridge).

There are also various other feeder insects you can get but most are not readily available unless you order online or get from a reptile show. Most places like petco/petsmart also carry wax worms. Waxworms are a nice treat, a once a month kind of snack item. Leos can get addicted to waxworms so you have to be careful to not feed them too often.

Thank you for the compliments on this little guy. Aberrant stripe...cool...

I am gut-loading and dusting the crickets I feed. And, I will definitely pick up some mealworms for them to feed on tomorrow. I will also gut-load the mealies before putting them in a dish for my little guys. As far as the age and weight of this gecko, I would say they're roughly the same length and are both 5g. I know that's considerably smaller than they should be at 3-5 weeks, but I attribute that to the fact that they came from a pet store and then were kept by an uneducated individual before finding their way to me.

Do you think these guys have a good chance at making it to adulthood? I'm so afraid of losing them. I've had them such a short time, but I am already in love with them. Is the fact that they were given untreated water before coming to my home an issue (I always treat my geckos' water)? Is there anything else I should be doing to give these little ones their best chance? I am reading everything I can get my hands on here and elsewhere and am willing to do whatever I can for my leopard geckos. I hope that is enough.

You all have no idea how much I appreciate your time, support, and advice. Thank you, thank you...

Try not to be so nervous :) B has a plump little tail and doesn't look to be in bad shape at all. Leaving mealworms in for them to snack on will help them grow at a good, normal rate. Be sure to remove uneaten crickets after half an hour or so, to keep them from pestering your geckos and eating poop. There's nothing you can do about their previous living conditions or water. Just do good now :) I have well water at my house and drink bottled water, so I give my geckos bottled water. After your tots get settled in good and start growing, you might want to have a fecal test done just to be sure no parasites are present. Good luck with your cuties :)
