My baby looks so dry and he's rubbing on everything trying to get his skin off. He won't go into his humid hide and I soaked him like 10 minutes ago. Is there something I can do? I don't want toes coming off, thank you guys!

Just an update: Humphrey finally got off the skin on his body, legs, and tail but couldn't on his feet. I read some bad things about blood circulation getting cut off by the constriction of the limb or toe. I helped him by soaking him in warm water and I picked off the skin on his feet when it was pliable enough. I'll post a pic of the new Humphrey tommorow...just want to say that the pinkish parts of his body got a lot darker. Well, it's 3:00 am, good night all!

I sometimes have to help my baby leos to get the shed off of their toes, and sometimes other parts. I don't soak them, just spray a little with water and use a tweezers to get the pieces off. As long as they get most of it themselves, they do fine.

I tried the spray before, he screamed at me and I almost caught a heart attack lol

I used to have alot of trouble with shedding around the toes, especially in the winter. I used to take them into the bathroom when my oldest son was showering (he takes long, hot ones! LOL!) and in the humidity I could "roll" the skin off like a stocking. The trick is to be VERY patient!

Get a qutip for your ears. Then dab it in the water and rub it on the skin but don't tear or any thing it will help also try to show where the humid hide is at to. Don't worry they will learn it takes time good luck and keep us updated.

I think I mentioned it before, but I've taken a leo into the bathroom while my oldest son is showering. (He takes very long, hot showers.) The warmth and humidity really helps when you're trying to get that last little piece rolled off a toe!

If i ever do get an Egg i may try that! Im beginning to think my Leopard Gecko's mated too young... My Super Hypo Tangerine - Carrot Tail Female May have mated with my Mack Snow. They have been TOO Social lately and she now doesn't really pay much attention to her other Female room mate. Im not sure if she has an Egg or not and i hope she dosen't. How would i check?

My girl is having the same problem but only on one foot!!! She won't go in to the humid hide. I'm scared she's going to lose a couple toes =( And the tip of her tale looks like she has a little blood... This shed has been stressful... Sorry to be a thread stealer!

If she is gravid, you'll be able to see them as they grow. There are some really good pictures if you google seach. I like to put my geckos on a piece of plexi or in a glass dish to look at their bellies ( they really dont like being held upside down!)
