Yes they can. Mealies are ok as a staple. Also its good to feed crickets and or roaches 2 - 3 times a week in addition. I stick to Super worms and Mealies.

Wax works should only be an Occational treat as they are like crack to geckos and they will often hold out on eating in the hopes of another waxie.

How is your tank set-up? I know when I got my Leos the staff was misinformed on the care and set-up requirements. The lovely members here helped educate me :)

Mealworms work for staple, though I vary mine with weekend crickets.

I am feeding then crix (dusted,i hope thats okay i just got them today and fed them after i set up the cage,) I just wasn't sure about mealies or waxies, i thought they may of been to small. And I learned from the goo dpeople here abot feeding waxies as a sort of treat once a week. I was also thinking about butter worms as well is this okay? When i bought them today i noticed the petco sold them as well.
Also i as well set up my cage for Dante(my first leo) wrong i used calci sand as subsrate. He was much bigger though when i got him. But i learned here to use tile, which I am getting my new cage ready for all my geckos.Seperate of course since they are different in size. I lined their cages with paper until tommorrow when my bf will go to lowes and get the tile for me while im at work. They are so cute and since they are smaller then what Dante was when i first got him, they will prolly be spoiled a bit lol. This is a first haveing them so small.

Dusted crickets are ok as long as it is calcium only. Waxworms, butterworms are considered treats by many leo owners. Crickets, mealies, roaches make good staple diets. Personally I find crickets noisy and smelly. Roaches and mealies are easy to breed to keep your food supply up!

only calcium as dust? I dusted them with a leo dust by t-rex,its an all in one though. I was going to get calcium but petco was out when my bf go for my tile I'm haveing him pick up the calcium as well. I wont give them anymore with the multi. This won't hurt them will it? oh i hope not ill feel really bad.
Also could anybody give me an estimate on thier age? the people at petco had no clue.

Can you tell me what the purpose of the tile is? I would think that it would keep the cage too cold for the leos to be walking on, even with a heat lamp. I personally use the calcisand and haven't had any problems although I recently switched to a similar sand that is a little finer for my younger leos that can't digest the larger sand, just in case they eat it when eating their normal diet.

the tile is to keep them from ingesting the sand and getting impacted, plus it's easier to clean and harder for feeders to hide in, it heats up just fine with the uth i have. under tank heat is better than a heat lamp for leos anway.

Well that is what everyone here says they use because it is safer and much easyier to me it seems becuase you by the tile and use that only once right? Clean it of course when it is messed. And woulnt tile be the same as sand temp wise with heat lamps? The sand would soak up same amunt of warmth as tile? Maybe if it was black tile (which im wanting cause it would look so wicked in my opion lol) would soak up more? Also how do you use an under tank heater? Do you regulate temp some how so as not to burn? If so with what do you regulate with and where can you get it?

I use tile in 3 tanks with heat @ 88.6deg. It holds heat very nicely dropping very slow when power went out. I also use paper towel in 3 baby tanks with temp at about 87 deg. I use pure calcium at all times in all tanks with mealies and dust crickets once every few weeks with a calcium D-3.

Tiles are fine for any size gecko. My baby tanks are too small so my tiles would need to be cut thats why I am using paper towel, otherwise I would have all my tanks with tile.

They can eat meal worms all the time. Wax worms are the ones you have to watch. they can't eat more then a few a week

you would want to get a thermostat or rheostat, i got mine from blvdreptiles.com they had them on sale:

http://blvdreptiles.com/product_info.php/cPath/40/products_id/80

that's the one i got, it's nice because it has a temperature probe and you just set it to the temp you want and it regulates it, i have a thermometer with a probe on the hot side too just to double check the temp.
