Still working on getting my two new females acclimated to display living. Raised in racks and picked up as yearlings, these girls have been slow going. Oddly enough, Rebel, the Afghan who had a bad bout with stress and dehydration, is the braver of the two. She's out and about and eating (although now I'm worried she's ovulating and going to lay infertile eggs... not her year). Fantasia, the Gem Snow, is freaked out by pretty much everything (OMG, a hand! OMG, a spray bottle! OMG, a cricket in tongs! OMG, human face!). *snort* I'd rename her Spazzy if she weren't so darn pretty...

Anyway, after I finally got them eating and doing well covered up, I started raising the towel off the front end of the tanks slowly. Then, finally made the big jump to adding a light cycle because their permanent homes are going to have lighting.

Rebel is getting the idea and already has picked up the habit of basking in the morning and then butt-basking later one (behavior my two males exhibit all the time). Fantasia, however, not impressed and has been hiding in her humid hide constantly. The crickets are disappearing though, so she's still eating. lol
