baking sticks

my mom gets these great sticks from trees, they look so cool and she has two in particular that would make great hides for my geckos. she peels all of the bark off so the branch is smooth and a tan color.

i baked them in the oven at 300 degrees for 15 minutes, which i found on some website.

will this be good enough to get all of the parasites off?

i did the same thing for anoles and never had a problem with them, my cousins a vet tech and told me if i was still concerned to freeze them after baking them as well and it'll kill anything on it.
