We spent yesterday at Inner Harbor to check out the aquarium there since I had never been. I can't say that it was worth the $25 admission, but we at least made the best of our time there. I got a few good pictures, but with pushing/screaming kids and fast moving fish some just didn't work out! After the aquarium we hit up the Imax and saw Deep Sea 3D..if you have a chance to see it, it's definitely worth it.

Probably my favorite picture, he was so cute!

The dolphins

The Australian Exhibit-the worst set up ever. The frilled and the skink were not getting along.

And I took a few while we were stuck outside for 2 hours waiting for our table to open up at the Cheesecake Factory.

Looks like you guys had fun Ryan and Val, we have a Cheesecake Factory here as well, and 2 hour waits are the norm here. It doesn't look as if too much thought was put into the Austrailian Exhibit, they might want to go back to the drawing board on that one. We just had the Georgia Aquarium open up here a little less than two year ago, suppose to be the biggest in the world, so if you are ever passing through check it out, but it comes complete with the screaming pushing kids as well, lol.

I'm also afraid if it involves John. Hopefully it doesn't involve hairless rats too...

It was a good time, but Imax was the best part. I would love to see a more indepth aquarium like the one you guys have! I thought we'd see more, but the most exciting was the three finned (footed?) sea turtle and a few sharks. That's only one part of the Australia exhibit, but inside the small tank was the frilled, one or two skinks, a few nasty looking snakes, a bearded dragon and of all things knob tails! However, I didn't see any knob tails..my main concern is the little guys probably look like a tasty snack for the others.

The best part of the Georgia Aquarium is the Whale Sharks in my opinion, they have the moving sidewalk which takes you slowly along on the bottom of the Whale Shark habitat, and I think they are up to 3 whale sharks now and they are always swimming right over the top of you. The second best part would have to be the Beluga Whales, they are fun to watch.

Like the pic of the tomato frog best :D. I have always wanted to go to that aquarium, but perhaps I will hold out for the mega Georgia one instead...

Eh, you may want to save your money on that one, Derek. I don't know that I'd call it $25 cool, but Inner Harbor itself is pretty sweet. The Baltimore Science Center looked really neat and I hear the zoo is nice too. You could easily make a day or two from those.

Looks like a fun day!! :)

We have a membership to the Monterey Aquarium, but I refuse to go on the weekend - or really most of the summer either! You know those days when the line snakes all the way down the block and through the maze meaning the crowd is going to be so thick that the kids will never be able to see anything other than rear ends. :main_rolleyes:
