Bandits?

Maybe I missed something, but can anybody fill me in on these? Ron Tremper's got them listed on his site: http://www.leopardgecko.com/designers.html

I've also noticed a few members here mention that they have bandit leos, but Ron lists some as "het bandits," and I wouldn't have thought something like a nose band was a recessive trait. Has this been proven? Also, is the nose band all there is to it, or are there any other indicators of "bandit" leos?

I got a lovely bold stripe from Kelly. She got a nice spot on her bridge, but I think it's only Ron's name of the one with this pattern. I don't call mine bandits.
Het for bandit...sounds very strange...

This is my girl from Marcia's R2 line... hopefully she will post and give you a little history on them. :)

You can see the clear 'band' on her nose... I guess you could call her a 'Bandit Bold Stripe Designer'.

I think that what Tremper implies, is just that one of the parents was a true bandit, just like someone says a leo is Het. R.A.P.T.OR, something that's in my opinion not possible as well (only an A.P.T.OR het. R.A.P.T.OR is possible). Just to be short and everyone knows what it's about. Up to my knowledge 'bandit' isn't a recessive (or any) trait other than polygenetic...

There jungles and stripes with a bold influance. The band is a inheted trait it (ACTS-recessive) but you won't get 100% nose band 100% of the time like you would get if the trait was simple recessive.Mr Tremper has harness the banded but it's is a fairly common trait on any bold influance leo.The nose band i beleave is a inheted trait from there wild relative (Afghanicus) note the nose of these wild bloods in the link.

I suppose if you wanted to call it that, you could.

I hatched this one from the hets for my Ruby Eyed Red Stripe Albino project.
