Tank air temp day - 77 - 82
Night air temp - 69 - 74
Warm hiding spot floor temp - 89 - 91
Cool hiding spot floor temp - 76 - 80

He's laying under a 30 watt bulb that puts off close to 0 heat, I highly doubt he's laying in the light because he feels cold. Here lately he just gets up there an sits for around a hour or so. He usually spends his daytime hours sleeping or roaming around. Just curious as to if anyone else's does this?

This is my 3rd Leo and none of my others ever bothered with basking. Could he be copying my beardie? Lol, as crazy as that sounds I've seen more odd things from my reptiles.

Mine have done that in the past, even stuck their necks out. Mine gives off heat, so they could be absorbing more, but im not sure about yours. Putting your supplements in the fridge also keep them fresh for longer. They're supposed to expire in a year, but they go bad faster if they're exposed to warm air and humidity.

I burn through calcium powder an vitamins. My younger beardie is only 8 months an averages a few hundred crickets a week, other beardie is 11 months and still eats almost as much. I end up going through a bottle of calcium powder in 2 months so no worries of spoiling. His vitamin drops I do keep in the fridge.

My Leo does stand up an extend his legs as high as possible, considering they can't really absorb heat from there backs just through there belly makes me think he may be trying to cool off since that is the highest spot in the tank an he can more then likely feel a breeze from that spot.

I'm pretty sure they absorb heat throughout the body, but belly heat is the most important, as it helps them with digestion.
Mine usually leaves the hide and goes to the cool side when it's too hot. It's only happened to me once or twice.
Every consider buying supplements in bigger containers? Beardies are monsters, they eat so much!

Only size my local independent pet store sells. I never go to petsmart as I've made it a goal to myself to never spend money there again after a few bad experiences. One including a faulty 60$ reptisun 10.0 UVB light they wouldn't replace. Yeah they are monsters. Roughly 600 crickets a week between the two an a whole thing of greens.

Leo eats a mix of roaches, crickets, mealworms, occasional silk worms and Phoenix worms when they are available. Tried feeding him non insect foods that are okay for him to eat but if it doesn't move he doesn't show any interest.

Came to the conclusion that when I put my hand in his tank where he basks you can feel the heat from my heat vent like a breeze of warm air running through his tank, that spot being the warmest. From what I've read they're bodies can barely feel heat except on there bellies? I seen photos of burnt Leo's from heat lamps a while back but they could have had really high wattage bulbs. My cousin recently adopted a 6 month old blizzard morph that was almost completely blind, he has been using Gentamicin to treat its eyes an it's vision and its right eye has gotten well enough to hunt mealworms on the ground. Before it didn't even see them.

Leos eat strictly insects. The blizzard probably had bright uv lights on it. I'm pretty sure leos can feel heat the same throughout the body, possibly less sensory neurons on their backs. They should all absorb heat though, but they lay down on uth's the most, it helps the most.
Ever consider buying online? It's usually cheaper on websites such as lllreptile joshsfrogs, etc.

In my opinion, lll usually has the best prices, but shipping is expensive. Search online for the best price. I got a 5oz repashy calcium plus for around $13 shipped. Some brands are better than others, so you might want to check reviews.

Yeah If your ever using bulbs that high use Dimmers to lower the Brightness and Heating from the bulb. It lasts longer and its less harmful to the gecko.

Yeah I use dimmers for my crestie an Beardie. Bought them at lowes for around ten bucks.

I've read that they will occasionally eat dandelion leaves? I'm not much of a online shopper, although I do by my crestie food online. Shipping usually kills the "good" price. I'm sure some brands are better then others but I'm satisfied with what I buy now since he is completely healthy. He's not a fan of Phoenix worms or meal worms anymore, he likes crickets but his aim isn't so well so I break there legs off before I feed him so he can catch them easier. He LOVES superworms but they aren't nutritional enough to feed as a staple. I've been using a zoomed gutloading formula for all my crickets an ot seems to helping my herps gain weight.

Anyone know why they wind up their tails before they shoot at prey? It's like they build up momentum with it.

I get my supplements and CGD from a seller on ebay called tastyworms (or something like that). Repashy 5oz jars are about $11-12, and shipping is free.

Never heard of leos eating dandelion leaves, but I've heard they are high in calcium so it couldn't hurt.

I buy the 4oz for 13 free shipping off a distributer website. I'll look into the eBay seller. Thanks.

Yeah, he has ate a little bit of the dandelion leaves before but I have to mix them in with meal worms. I bought a "mealworm feeder" that you stick to the tank an they dangle from the bottom an he seems to show more interest that way.

Leopard geckos don't eat dandelion's, I believe that bearded dragons do. They sometimes shake their tails before going for food, primarily active insects, such as crickets or roaches.
