ok i have posted this on redtailboa.net and have only gotten 3 replys. so im asking the experts on here too! lol i wil getting a baby redtail boa next month at the reptile show. i will be using a glass tank as it is what i have. i was going to use newspaper but i have been told some babys like to burow and if my snake wants to then i want him to be able to. i have been told to use aspin and not to use aspin, is it ok to use? or ecoearth, i have several bricks that i could use, its great for humidity, would this be fine to use?? thanks

If you provide suitable hiding areas, your boa will have no need to burrow. I personally prefer newspaper for snakes, simply for cleaning purposes. However, I have used a number of loose substrates in the past, and aspen is by far the best way to go. Do NOT use Eco Earth for boas. It stays very soggy for a long period of time, presenting a major risk of scale rot. In my experience, it is always way too wet or way too dry.

Congrats on your first boa! They are amazing. :D
