My brother and I put out Leos together for the first time. I have a female, and he has a male. They didn't really acknowledge each other for the first few minutes. But then they stared at each other for a minute, and then the male began to rattle the end of his tail, like a rattlesnake, and then chase the female around.
We have no intention of mating them. We just wanted to see what they would do when they saw another one of themselves for the first time. I was wondering what the tail rattling meant. Does it mean he wants to mate, is it a territorial thing, or is it a sign of aggression? And is it alright to put them together again? Thanks =D

the tail rattling is a sign that he first wants to see if the other leo is a male and also it is a sign of mating.Once he rattles his tail he wants to breed with the female. If u dont want the female to get gravid dont put the two together also if u leave the 2 together permanently he will stress the female out by constantly wanting to mate

pretty much been answered, but once he senses she's a female with his tongue flicking sense he will rattle his tail as a sign of wanting to breed. I'd recommend not putting them together for any other reason than mating.
