Bell Blazing Blizzards?

Hello everyone. how rare are Bell Blazing Blizzards exactly? I know Steve Skyes has produced many of them but he is selling them at a very high price ($500 and up). I was curious as to what I would need to do to create one. Steve had mentioned I believe that it is a 6 year project. I want to know what to do so it won't take longer than this.

Thanks :)

Well, if you wanted to spend a little less and take a little more time, you could pick up a trio from Steve and cut a few years off the project:

1.0 Bell het Blizzard $175
0.2 Blizzard het Bell $400 ($200 each)

First year, assuming good odds and fertile eggs, you'd get:

25% Bell het Blizzard
25% Blizzard het Bell
25% Wild het Bell, Blizzard
25% Bell Blazing Blizzard

If you were then to cross the Bell Blazing back to either parent, you'd get 1/2 Blazing Blizzards, and 1/2 either Bell or Blizzard het for the other (depending on which parent you cross to).

But that's just me playing around with the Leopard Gecko Genetic Calculator and GeckosEtc.com.

Short answer, $575 and a couple of years' hard work would get you a decent chance at a number of Bell Blazing Blizzards without paying $500 each.

You'd need a blizzard that is proven to not be het for any albino or only bell albino, and a bell albino. If both geckos are not het it will take two generations. If they are het it may only take you one generation (with some luck). If you are not 100% sure of the background of either gecko it may take you a year or two to prove they are free of hidden hets for the other albinos. What you'll get from crossing two such geckos is a gecko with the combo of Blizzard and Bell traits that can be called a Blazing Bell. It may take several generations of line breeding to refine the look to get the quality of Blazing Bell Steve Sykes has for sale.

this is what actually makes them worth 500$. i've seen blazing bells for sale for just 60 dollars

True, which is why I suggested buying founding stock directly from the source. It would be a bit of a shortcut from starting with a random Bell and Blizzard and needing to do all the test-breeding to be sure they're "clean," genetically speaking, before starting the project.
It would still take a few generations to get really nice Blazing Bells, but it's a start. And she did ask how to create a Blazing Bell in less than 6 years, lol, not how to create asuper nice Blazing Bell in less than 6 years. Though... starting the first year with proven Bell het Blizzard and Blizzard het Bell, you could probably get a good start on that line-breeding in 6 years, yes? :D

I have a bell blazing pair from Steve that I'm breeding this season. I rarely ever see them for sale. The $60 ones are tremper blazing blizzards which have been around a long time. I love the look of the bells more. As stated, it takes years to produce these from the basic morphs. Hopefully mine will produce well. I don't see the price coming down much in the next two years. It's hard to say after that.
