Why are some bell snows looking different than each other? I thought the mack part was dom over the bell and most snow bells I've seen are almost white with lavendar markings. Yet I just saw one that looks just like a bell, you'd never know it was a snow bell. I was comparing the snow bells from geckos etc and hiss so you can see the difference. Is it based on how tang the bell is?

I don't think it's just the Bells, but all three strains. It goes without saying that there'd be Mack Snow Albinos with varying degrees of color since normal Mack Snows show this as well.

Yes and because of this you see people doing Mack Snow het Bell x Lavender Bell crosses. My Mack Snow Bell is mostly lavender now. It seems the yellow is actually fading and the lavender is getting bolder. Even though the father was a bright yellow Mack Snow Pastel his color is this way thanks to his hi-lav low-yellow mother.

Just like what defines the Mack Snows, it is more important how they hatch out. Alot of the Macks do`nt look like "snows" as adults either.

MSA`s should be pretty much pink and white upon hatching. A regular Mack, pretty much black and white.

The one thing that will throw that off I think is the Pastel gene, some Macks hatch as Snow AND Pastels.

That's because the Mack Snow trait is Incomplete Dominate, rather than Co-Dom. They look like Normals as they get older because they are a blend between Super Snows and Normals.

I know, Thanks though, Kyle. What is a nice white Mack Snow then? Not all Macks grow to be yellow mind you. It would be easy to say that if they did. I am actually seeing they are becoming more yellow, than the ones I had first hatched, they are even getting some Tangerine influence. Some of the first Macks, were less yellow so I think we ultimately have added more color to them.

I was only answering the question why do MSAs look different. That is because they are just like the other Mack Snows, only they are the albino version. Each one is different.:)
