Belly heat absolutely necesarry?

I was wondering, i want to build a rack and was wondering if belly heat is and absolute must. Currently none of my geckos have belly heat, just a light and the room they are in itself stays in the 80's so would i need flexwatt?

Belly heat is best for good digestion but it is not necessary as long as whatever head source you use heats the surface of their enclosure to at least 90 degrees on the hot side.

I recommend Heat Cable it can be found at most Reptile Supply stores, I`ve had many near fires with flexwatt. Some people will tell you otherwise but just giving you some input
