For those of you who vend at shows what morph sells the best for you? Is it bright colored animals like hypos or tangs? Harder to find ones like RAPTORS and Snows? Blazing Blizzards, Patternless, Stripes?

I find myself curious after reading comments on another thread. Me personally I like and want anything I don't already own.

Most Non-Breeders or non-enthusiasts who buy at the shows I sell at buy normals or albinos because they do not want to spend more than 25 or 30 dollars on a pet for themselves or their children.

a lot of that answer probably depends on what the breeder has to offer too, not everyone has a ton of different morphs. Some only have a few that thye work with and others have lots more.

Ive never sold at a show but online I sold more striped and jungles (albino and normal) than anything else but I didn't have many projects either.

Normally I'm pissed at shows cuz all I see is hypos, normals and tremper albinos. I've been asking myself why that is.

When ever I do not have SHT's or Hypos of any kind Thats what everyone wants. When I have them they sell out. Even normals do too, but I usually do not have too many. Next its RW albino Tremper Albino, Bold stripe, Red stripe and any morphs that is jungley, My blizards sell good, all kinds! DEB
Edit: forgot to add a few other morphs that sell good.

the cheap stuff sells best at shows. I have sold mostly hypos and normals this year. Tangs, blizzards and patternless are also popular. From what ive seen mostly low end stuff sells at shows, high end stuff for me at least tends to sell better online

It depends what we have.... usually we have an abundance of tangs (this year will be different though :)) but our super hypos/lower end geckos usually sell liek hot cakes, and our higher end stuff sticks around until someone whos looking for them in particualr picks them up. Supers and hypos definately go first though.

Honestly, I can't say that I've noticed a certain morph routinely sell better than any other. Price seems to have more of a factor than anything else.

i'm going to a show saturday in baltimore and wouldn't mind buying a gecko if i could find one i like for a good price, what do you guys consider "low end" and how much would i be looking to spend on something eye catching? i'm not worried about breeding potential or genetics, just want something for a pet for the time being. thanks.

ok, i got a super hypo tang baldy male that's possibly het for bell albino at the show for $30, i'm pretty sure i got a good deal since a lot of pet stores sell normals for more than that. i'm pretty happy because i wanted a tang all along and i was able to get one for way less than i expected initially (especially after seeing them priced in the $500 range online)

yea thats pretty standard they can go for anywhere from $25-$500+. pet stores over price and its sometimes a guessing game as to what you are getting, so you were right in goin to a show and getting one from a breeder :) good luck with the little fella, shtctb's are my fav

At the shows I was at this year, I saw a good mixture of morphs. My favorite is shtbct but I have a good pair of Hi-Yellow lavendor leopards that I love the personality and colors of also. I should stop being lazy and figure out how too put pics in these. When I do, I will post all my kids. lol

We just did our first show, and found a few things to be humorous: 1) most people liked the tangerines with a lot of spotting on their heads more than the baldies, (maybe it was the spots and the price tag). 2) How many people "know a kid down the street that have a gecko just like that one", and pointed at a beautiful snow with absolutely No yellowing. It was fun to see what people like.

Same. Local "pet" buyers are even less motivated by bright colors and are 99% normals every time. They call and ask for the "yellow ones with the brownish purple spots".
